Smith Pond Fishery Area is a class 2 and 3 trout stream, also considered an "Areas of Special Natural Resource Interest" (ASNRI). The property includes emergent wet meadow wetland, forested wetland, lowland shrub wetland, and cultural sites.

Smith Pond Fishery Area is located in Jackson County, Hixton Township; T 22N, R 5W, sections 29 and 30.

Shore and wading for trout. Category 2 trout regulation - bag limit 5, minimum size 7 inches (all species).
