Washington Island Catch-And-Release Bass Season To Expire April 1, 2022

2022 Sturgeon Spearing Season Opens Feb. 12
A giant among Wisconsin’s inland fresh water fishes, the bottom‐dwelling lake sturgeon is a living fossil – a relic from the Middle Ages of fish evolution. The Winnebago system is home to one of the largest lake sturgeon populations in North America and is one of only two locations where lake sturgeon can be harvested with a spear.

DNR Seeking Public Input On Proposed Lake Whitefish And Electronic Reporting Rule
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold a public hearing and comment period on proposed permanent rule FH-02-20 relating to lake whitefish commercial harvest in Lake Michigan and Green Bay, and electronic harvest reporting for all Lake Michigan and Lake Superior commercial fishers.
