Apply to Become A DNR Vehicle Registration Dealer
The Department of Natural Resources has developed an online vehicle registration portal designed for recreational vehicle dealers to process their vehicle registrations through the Go Wild system, as opposed to sending in paper applications by mail.
This page explains how to become an Authorized Dealer, which is a business that contracts with the DNR to register recreational vehicles that are sold at their business location through the Go Wild Dealer Portal website. Authorized Dealers collect the registration fees and print out the temporary operating receipt at the time of registration, allowing customers to operate immediately.
To qualify to be an Authorized Dealer, the business needs to complete the Dealer Portal Request Form. Forms are accepted year-round and reviewed weekly. The request form must be filled out completely.
Important Information:
- Authorized Dealers must have an active Dealer Certificate for each vehicle type they will sell (ATV, UTV, Snowmobile, Off-Highway Motorcycle and boat). The dealer portal account permissions will reflect those active commercial dealer certificates as long as those certificates remain active.
- Register with the Wisconsin DNR as a certified ATV/UTV, Snowmobile or Off-Highway Motorcycle dealer using the Commercial Dealer Recreational Vehicle Registration (form 9400-589).
- Register with the Wisconsin DNR as a certified boat dealer using the Commercial Boat Dealer Registration Application (form 9400-588).
- Authorized Dealers must have computer equipment available that is able to access the Dealer Portal online web page and meet certain security requirements.
- Ability to register boats will be available starting Sept. 1, 2026.
