Wisconsin Rain Garden Educator's Kit

Interest in rain gardens is rising each year because they are a way that most people can contribute to cleaner water in their own community. Educators like Basin Educators, Master Gardeners, and school teachers are out in the communities teaching people about the benefits of rain gardens and how to build them.

Produced by the WDNR Runoff Management Section in collaboration with the UW Extension Basin Education Program, this kit offers tools to help educators spread the word about rain gardens, storm water runoff and the links to better water quality. Non-educators will also benefit from the wealth of information and how-to tips included in the kit.

The Educator's Kit contains a CD with three PowerPoint presentations and a digital photo library with photos and figures in both .jpeg and .tiff format. It also contains several case studies of rain garden installations from around the state, potential speaker contacts, internet web links, newspaper stories, sample workshop materials, and hard copies of rain garden publications. A short Into The Outdoors TV segment is a special bonus in two different viewing formats. Table of Contents [PDF 131 KB]
