Flambeau River State Forest Conditions

Conditions as of Tuesday, September 22, 2009:

Trails

ATV trails are open until November 15.

River and Lakes

Both the north and south forks of the Flambeau River are very low. Recent paddlers on the north fork reported the need to get out and pull through occasionally.

Nature

Geese are in their feeding patterns and lots of turkeys are moving. Trees are at about 75 percent color along road sides and should be at their peak in about one week.

Camping

Lake of the Pines Campground is open until December 15 and will reopen April 15, 2010. Connors Lake Campground is closed for the season and will reopen the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend.
